During the evening you could take a Ghost Walk around the City, a stroll down the Shambles, Stonegate or a Cruise on the Ouse. Pre-booking the Jorv Centre can be made by calling 01904-543403. York Castle Museum and York Minster are two top attractions. This York B&B is ideally situated for day trips to the Yorkshire Moors, Dales and the Coast. Castle Howard is only 14 miles out of York. Just a little further is Pickering where you will find The North Yorkshire Moors Railway, an 18 mile journey on a Steam Train through beautiful Yorkshire countryside finishing at the historic coastal town of Whitby. "Mousey" Thompson the furniture makers can be seen in the Thirsk area (Kilburn). Thirsk, where James Herriot (James Alfred Wight) practiced, is approximately 24 miles from York.
